Beyond the Taboo. Data for Dignity.
Break the Silence. Advance Women's Health Science.
AURA is a young team with a new approach: we dare to look where others look away. We break down taboos and talk openly about topics that are often made invisible. This includes vaginal discharge. We want to give it the attention it deserves, because consciously understanding these bodily signals is an important step toward greater **empowerment** and **self-confidence**.

Empowerment durch Wissen (Empowerment through Knowledge)
The AURA project addresses women seeking **hormone-free alternatives** or aiming to better understand and document their discharge as a key health indicator. Our app enables structured tracking of visible symptoms and their development over time.
Bessere Diagnostik für alle (Better Diagnostics for All)
The app supports users, consultants for hormone-free contraception, and gynecologists. Continuous tracking establishes a structured data basis for **consultation and diagnosis**. Everyday pictures fill the gaps between practice visits, allowing for **more precise diagnoses**.
Ethische Datenverantwortung (Ethical Data Responsibility)
We guarantee the highest level of care and DSGVO compliance. This includes the **pseudonymization** of the dataset before any publication and the use of servers located **within the EU**.

The Ethical Mandate: Why AURA is Different.
We are building a **transparent and ethical** data resource in contrast to Big Data Corporations. Our goal is to normalize vaginal discharge, break the social taboo, and use technology to strengthen **self-determination** and health literacy.
Born from a project at HTW Berlin, AURA ensures that research using machine learning is **GDPR-compliant**, **pseudonymized**, and developed with professional feedback, ensuring high quality and trust.
Intelligent Tracking & Scientific Partnership
Real-World Data for Machine Learning.
The resulting dataset forms the basis for machine learning research that can classify discharge types **(t, f, 0, s, s+)** according to the symptothermal method. The new approach: data is collected not in a lab, but **directly in the user's daily life**. The app provides guidance to ensure data quality.
Driving Future Health Innovations.
With AURA, we strengthen Berlin as an innovation hub for AI and create a unique dataset that immediately provides utility and advances long-term image data collection and processing with machine learning. We strengthen prevention and self-determination and thus increase health literacy in Berlin and beyond.

Product Visibility & Lifestyle Integration
We offer placements and visibility opportunities for ethical period products, vibrators, and other lifestyle products that align with the mission of self-determination and women's health. Integrate your brand into a trusted, progressive health community.
Software Development & Ethical Data Competence
AURA's approach can also be methodologically groundbreaking for future projects. We have a competent student team in applied informatics that can support projects requiring software development or expertise in transparent, ethically correct data collection/evaluation for AI in the health sector. We contribute a new, high-quality dataset and methodology.
